MV JI ZHE2 inaugurated the first voyage of the Chinese PEAK line to the port of Aden,,,

1 March 2024 – The container ship MV JI ZHE2, belonging to the Chinese PEAK line, has berthed at the Aden container terminal on its maiden voyage from China via Malaysia to the port of Aden.

This has marked the second Chinese shipping lines during this month connects the ports of the People’s Republic of China directly to the port of Aden, aiming to reduce the transit time and shipping costs. The ship MV JI ZHE2 is expected to discharge 366 TEU on its first call, with regular voyages of the Chinese shipping line to the port of Aden at a monthly frequency anticipated.

Dr. Mohammed Alawi Emzarbah, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Aden Ports Development Company, and Mr. Aref Hassan Al-Shaabi, the General Manager of the Aden Container Terminal have welcomed the arrival of the MV JI ZHE2 ship, marking the inauguration of the first voyage of the Chinese PEAK line to the port of Aden. The commercial management team boarded the ship to welcome the captain and his team, along with the shipping agent of the Chinese line, Sharaf Shipping Company.

The ship’s captain expressed his happiness visiting the port of Aden, commending the port’s facilities, the efficiency of the working crew, and the speed of operations.
